The Formation and Catechesis of all Catholics is a very important and serious duty. We strive to help all of our parishioners in increasing their knowledge of the Catholic Faith in order to more fully live it. We assist especially in the preparation of all who will receive the Sacraments of Baptism, First Holy Communion, Confirmation and Marriage. Opportunities are provided for on-going catechesis and education within the life of the parish through Parish Missions, Adult Education Classes, etc.
The CCD Program for our youth at Immaculate Heart of Mary is comprised of two sections: 1) the elementary program for grades K to 8 and 2) and the Confirmation program for grades 9 to 11. See below for the specifics of each.

The Elementary Program is comprised of grades K through Eight. Classes meet on the first and third Sundays of the month from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. (includes Holy Mass at 10 am).
Classes are from September to March for grades K-8.
Our program uses the Christ Our Life series in grades Kindergarten through Eighth.
The Student Books of the Christ Our Life Series were created with the goal of teaching children that Jesus is the One around whom our lives is centered. It teaches children how to live out their faith in their daily lives and in communion with the Church. Through Scripture, doctrine, and prayer, children are guided into a deeper personal relationship with Christ.
Inside the Student Book
Gather and Go Forth pages at the end of each chapter help children know, proclaim, witness, and share the Good News of Jesus Christ and ensures an enthusiastic response by children to the Church’s call for New Evangelization.
Scripture and doctrine help children learn the traditions of the faith.
Prayer is integrated throughout each chapter using traditional and guided prayer.
Review of the lesson provides an opportunity for the children to examine the material and involves parents in each chapter.
The Confirmation Program is comprised of grades Nine through Eleven.
Classes for Grades Nine and Ten are on the first and third Sundays of the month from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. (includes Holy Mass at 10 am).
Classes for Eleventh Grade are on the first and third Sundays of the month from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Classes are from September to January for grades 9-11.
The requirements for receiving the Confirmation in the 11th grade include (each year, 9-11):
1. Regular attendance at the weekend Masses of this Parish.
2. Attendance at all scheduled classes, special events, retreats and ceremonies. Absences must be excused before the scheduled class or event by the Pastor.
3. Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament two hours per year.
***Note: Confirmation Candidates who miss more than two classes, Sunday Masses, or do not complete the other requirements each year without a valid reason (serious illness) determined by the Pastor WILL NOT REMAIN IN THE CONFIRMATION PROGRAM.
