Deacon Joshua LeBlanc is a native of Cow Island, the son of Steven LeBlanc and Rebecca Chauvin LeBlanc. After graduating from Kaplan High School in 1998, he entered seminary formation for the Diocese of Lafayette at St. Joseph Seminary College in Covington. He graduated with a B.A. in Arts in Philosophy in May 2002, and decided not to continue formation to the Priesthood. On June 27, 2003, he married Annie Mire. Shortly after, they moved to Front Royal, VA, where he worked as the IT Manager of Human Life International from April 2004 to August 2005. They moved back to Louisiana and settled in Abbeville. He worked as the Religion Administrator of Carencro Catholic School from August 2005 to June 2006. He then worked as the IT Manager of the Vermilion Parish Library in Abbeville from June 2006 to May 2010. In June 2010, Deacon LeBlanc founded and opened Bayouland Computer Solutions in Abbeville, which he has owned and operated since. He entered the Diaconate Formation Program of the Diocese of Lafayette in 2012 and was ordained to the Diaconate on May 21, 2016. His first assignment as Deacon was at St. Leo IV Catholic Church in Roberts Cove, where he has served since being ordained. In September 2017, he was invested into the ancient Military and Hospitaller Order of St. Lazarus of Jerusalem (AChLJ), which focuses on help for the poor, the sick and the dying. He serves as one of its Assistant Chaplains. On September 1, 2018, Deacon LeBlanc and his wife Annie along with another business partner opened Chesterton’s Fine Cigars in Youngsville. We are blessed to welcome Deacon Joshua LeBlanc to our Parish and look forward to his Diaconal ministry among us.
