Fr. Vidrine is originally from Ville Platte. He was ordained a Deacon at St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome on October 6, 2005 and then a Priest for the Diocese of Lafayette, LA, on July 8, 2006. Fr. Vidrine entered the seminary in 1998 after graduating high school, completing a B.A. in Arts and Philosophy from St. Joseph Seminary College in Covington, LA in 2002. Following college seminary, he was sent to Rome for theological formation at the Pontifical North American College and earned an S.T.B. and M.A. in Dogmatic Theology at the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas (Angelicum). Fr. Vidrine’s previous Priestly assignments have included: Parochial Vicar of Our Lady of Wisdom Church and Catholic Student Center on the campus of UL (2006-2008), Parochial Vicar of Sts. Peter and Paul Church in Scott (2008-2009), Pastor of St. Peter the Apostle Church in Gueydan (2009-2013) where he also served as Principal of St. Peter School (2010-2013), Pastor of Sacred Heart of Jesus and St. Joseph Parishes in Ville Platte (2013-2015) and most recently, Pastor of St. Anthony of Padua Church in Krotz Springs (2015-2017). In addition to his Pastoral duties, Fr. Vidrine currently serves as spiritual director of Our Lady of Grace Comitium of the Legion of Mary and assistant Master of Ceremonies for the Diocese of Lafayette.
