Fr. Jonathan Janise appointed Pastor of IHM!

On June 5, 2021, Bishop Deshotel announced that Fr. Jonathan Janise would be the new Pastor of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church beginning  July 5, 2021.
Fr. Janise is a native of Belaire Cove, LA (near Ville Platte) and his home Parish is Sacred Heart in Ville Platte. Discerning a vocation, he entered seminary and was sent to St. Joseph Seminary College (St. Ben’s) in Covington, LA. After graduating St. Ben’s with a B.A. in Arts and Philosophy, he decided to take some time away from seminary, during which he taught at St. Edmond School in Eunice and worked at St. Pius Church in Lafayette. Deciding to return to seminary formation, he was sent to Notre Dame Seminary in New Orleans, where he obtained an M. Div. in Theology and was ordained to the Priesthood for the Diocese of Lafayette at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist on June 11, 2011. Fr. Janise’s first assignment as a Parochial Vicar was at St. Peter in Carencro from 2011-2013. Then he served at Holy Rosary Church in Kaplan from 2013-2014. Since July, 2014, he has served as the Pastor of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Leroy. Immaculate Heart of Mary Church welcomes Fr. Janise!
